Curricula: Spatial Thinking and Structural Racism
The Mapping Prejudice Curriculum
2018-2019
This project has been the culmination of over a year of classroom experiments, bringing the work of Mapping Prejudice to students across the Twin Cities. This diverse curriculum resource arms educators with the tools to tackle the history of race and inequality through a case study of Minneapolis.
This curriculum is the product of dozens of classroom visits, working with talented educators and amazing students. Putting maps and primary sources in the hands of students has proven to be the key. In the words of one student "I didn't fully understand the history until I put it on the map... myself."
